Few studies include siblings’ experiences with anorexia nervosa (AN). Aims: Describe patients’ and retrospective views on how AN influenced their life in the acute phase of illness at 4.5-years follow-up. Method: 34 former patients 13 siblings that had participated family-based inpatient treatment for completed questionnaires Results: Patients reported high, moderate, levels negative influences AN, including schoolwork, leisure, worries conflicts family. The majority been afraid ill sibling would not recover, or die, from AN. However, most replied also provided valuable experiences. Recovery follow-up was associated lower lives.
